Beautiful, etched, Santa Clara Pueblo, black, pottery pot. Each pot is handmade, by coiling clay, mixing with temper and shaping into a pot, then polished and etched. Signed by Gracie Naranjo.

Measures approximately 4 x 4"

Gracie Naranjo (1938-2002) was the daughter in law of famed potter, Christina Naranjo and was a distinguished Santa Clara Pueblo potter of Navajo descent, known for creating hand-crafted blackware pottery with etched designs, including intricate avanyu (water serpent) and geometric motifs. Her pottery, created from the coiling of clay, is considered a fine example of traditional Tewa Indian art and is highly sought by collectors.

Pot is is in good condition with minor wear, no chips, cracks or breaks noted. As with any unique, handmade item, flaws and imperfections may be noted.

Great addition for any collector of Native American pottery.
