[About the Fountain Pen]
The Pelikan 400NN MERTZ & KRELL brown/tortoise-shell fountain pen was manufactured and sold in the 1970s. Pelikan was heavily affected by the ballpoint pen revolution of the 70s and temporarily withdrew from fountain pen production.
During that time, MERTZ & KRELL reissued the classic 400 series under license from PELIKAN, which is the Pelikan 400NN M&K. According to one theory, there was a fervent offer from the Japanese market.

Along with the green stripes, the brown/tortoise-shell color is a traditional color. This model has the strongest contrast of sparkle among all the brown stripes. It's like holding the galaxy in your hand. If you look closely, the resin parts are also unified in dark brown instead of black.

The successor is the Souverän M400, but the total length is close to the size of the Souverän M600.
The flexibility of the nib varies depending on the individual, but this pen is about the same as the current M400.
