Antique “Pêcheur” Sculpture by Charles Lévy, French Spelter Statue

This elegant antique French sculpture titled “Pêcheur” (“The Fisherman”) is signed by Charles Lévy, a well-known 19th-century French sculptor celebrated for his detailed allegorical and neoclassical works. The figure depicts a young fisherman holding his net, captured in motion with a graceful and lifelike pose.
Standing about 15 inches tall on a rich reddish-brown marble base, the statue is cast in spelter with a warm gilt bronze finish that beautifully highlights the fine details of the figure’s face, drapery, and net. The base bears a small brass title plaque reading “PÊCHEUR Par Ch. Lévy.” See pictures for condition and dimensions.
